What parents and students say about us

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this really work?

For most of our students, yes. Around 70% get distinctions at the exams, including students who joined us with failing grades. It works because your child practises exam-style questions every week, gets personal feedback from an ex-MOE teacher, and fixes their mistakes. It only works if your child does the practice, so it isn't right for students who can't set aside the time. Read what parents say above, or WhatsApp us with questions.

Is online tuition as effective as in-person?

For learnMOJO's students, absolutely. The true drivers of a student's success aren't about sitting in the same physical room—they are about learning how to think and installing an effective study system under the guidance of a skilled teacher.

While we use online platforms to connect with students, those tech tools only serve to facilitate the process; they are never the main point. The core of our approach relies on our D.A.T.A. framework, which focuses on building the necessary cognitive habits and a structured routine that makes learning stick.

Mastering the Humanities comes down to guided practice: learning how to critically read sources and write precise answers. Through the D.A.T.A. framework, an ex-MOE teacher provides your child with real-time support and personalized, marked feedback. This framework empowers students with the flexibility to self-study efficiently, completely bypassing the time-sink of traditional tuition and saving them countless hours of travel time.

If you're unsure how this method will work for your child, WhatsApp us and we'll advise.

Are the lessons live?

Yes. Sec 3 and Sec 4 have live online lessons in small groups of up to 5 with an ex-MOE teacher, weekly or every two weeks. Sec 2 has monthly live workshops and practice sprints, with personalised marking. Lessons are recorded for students who miss one.

How much time does my child need each week?

Sec 3 and Sec 4: up to 45 minutes of assigned practice plus the live lesson. Sec 1 and Sec 2: 15 minutes to 1.5 hours a week, compared with 3 to 5 hours for traditional tuition.

Is it suitable for G2 students?

Sec 1 and Sec 2 welcome G2 students. Sec 3 and Sec 4 are designed for G3 students.

Who teaches?

Our coaches are all ex-MOE teachers with a proven track record of helping students succeed.

What is Combined Humanities?

Combined Humanities is the common name for the Humanities subject that pairs Social Studies with an elective: History, Geography or Literature. The two are examined together as one subject, with Social Studies making up 50% of the grade and the elective the other 50%. On the SEC it appears as "Humanities (Social Studies, History)" or "Humanities (Social Studies, Geography)". Our Sec 3 and Sec 4 programmes cover Social Studies and the History Elective.

What are SBQs, and how do you score well in them?

SBQs are source-based questions. You're given sources, such as extracts, cartoons, photos or data, and asked what they show, what they suggest, how reliable or useful they are, or how they compare. To score well, answer exactly what the question asks, back every point with evidence from the source, and explain why it matters. SBQs appear in both Social Studies and History, so we teach each question type step by step.

What is the SEC, and how is it different from the O-Level?

The Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) replaces the GCE O-Level, N(A) and N(T) certificates from 2027. Students sit each subject at G1, G2 or G3 level. G3 is graded A1 to 9 as before, and MOE says exam standards stay the same. The first cohort sits the SEC in 2027, with results released in January 2028.
